We’ve always felt that this region of Idaho is a great place to retire—enjoy access to all the amenities and features retirees expect and desire.

Now, “Where To Retire” magazine thinks so too. Sandpoint, located just northeast of Willow Bay, has been named as one of the magazine’s top retirement destinations in its January/February 2018 issue.

Magazine editor Annette Fuller told KREM2 News that Sandpoint has many amenities that today’s retirees value.

“Up there, on the Idaho Panhandle, is Sandpoint, whose appeal is 100% clinched with sparkling Lake Pend Oreille and mountain views,” Fuller told the station. “Skiers adore the slopes in winter at Schweitzer Mountain resort, where a chairlift whisks them over the treetops. Antique shops, art festivals and craft breweries attract people downtown, and in the summer, hikers trek trails lined with lilacs.”

Willow Bay is a great home base for those who want to explore Sandpoint and the rest of beautiful Northern Idaho.
